M/E Maneuvering System Overhauling SULZER Type: RTA72U-B

Description

The maneuvering overhaul carried out on the SULZER RTA72U‑B main engine focused on restoring full reliability and responsiveness across all pneumatic and electro‑pneumatic control elements. Our team dismantled and inspected the maneuvering valves, cylinders, and associated components, replacing worn or damaged parts with new certified repair kits. Both pneumatic and electro‑pneumatic valves received new internal kits, seals, and moving elements to ensure smooth actuation and accurate transmission of control signals. The cylinders were also serviced, cleaned, and fitted with fresh sealing sets to eliminate air leaks and restore proper operating pressure.

After reassembling the system, a complete series of functional tests and maneuvering trials were performed to verify correct operation under real conditions. Start sequences, ahead/astern transitions, and speed‑change commands were checked for stability, timing accuracy, and consistent response. The system performed flawlessly, confirming that the overhaul successfully restored the maneuvering unit to optimal working condition and ensured safe, dependable engine handling for future operations.
