Troubleshooting & Restoration of Wärtsilä Spemos System
Description
Our technical team recently attended a vessel to perform a full troubleshooting and operational recovery of the Wärtsilä Spemos System — a critical monitoring and safety platform for engine‑room operations. Upon arrival, the system exhibited unstable behavior and inconsistent responses, requiring a structured diagnostic approach to identify the root causes and restore full functionality.
The service began with a detailed inspection of the local control panel, where several PCB boards were found to be defective or operating outside their expected parameters. These boards were replaced with new units, ensuring stable communication and proper signal handling across the system. Each replacement was followed by targeted checks to confirm correct integration with the existing wiring and control logic.
Once the hardware restoration was completed, our team carried out a comprehensive functional check of the entire Spemos System. This included verification of monitoring channels, alarm pathways, safety interlocks, and system response under simulated operational conditions. Calibration procedures were applied where necessary to ensure accurate readings and reliable triggering of safety functions.
Following the full inspection, testing, and calibration sequence, the Wärtsilä Spemos System was successfully restored to normal operational condition. This intervention ensured full reliability, stable performance, and operational readiness — reinforcing our commitment to delivering dependable technical solutions that support safe and efficient vessel operations.
