The SELCO M1000 is a highly reliable alarm monitoring panel engineered to provide critical status information in harsh conditions, particularly within the maritime sector. Capable of monitoring up to 10 normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) contacts, this unit ensures that operators are immediately aware of any system faults.
One of the key operational features of the M1000 is its distinct visual indication logic: the first incoming alarm is indicated with a quick flashing light, while subsequent alarms flash slowly. This “first-out” indication is crucial for operators to quickly identify the root cause of a chain of events. Alarms are acknowledged via the front-panel reset button, which silences the internal siren and changes flashing LEDs to a steady state (if the alarm condition still exists). The reset sequence itself is programmable to suit specific application needs .
The unit features 10 programmable open-collector outputs, allowing for individual alarm signalling or integration with external control systems. For communication and scalability, the M1000 is equipped with an RS485 interface supporting the industry-standard MODBUS-RTU protocol. This allows multiple M1000 units to be connected to a master HMI or SCADA system, expanding the monitoring capacity to hundreds of points .
Built to last in wet and vibration-prone environments, the M1000 boasts a rugged design with an IP56 protection rating (front panel) and is certified for marine use. Configuration is flexible, available via internal DIP switches or an RS232 connection to a PC .
