KANGRIM IGG System Upgrade & Annual Health Check Completed
Description
Our team recently completed a significant upgrade on the vessel’s KANGRIM Inert Gas Generator system, replacing and commissioning two new HMI panels on the local control panel and an additional HMI in the CCR. The new interfaces restored full functionality, improved system visibility, and enhanced operator interaction with one of the vessel’s most critical safety systems. This upgrade ensures smoother operation, clearer process monitoring, and improved reliability during cargo operations.
In parallel with the upgrade, the system underwent its Annual Health Check Inspection — a comprehensive evaluation designed to verify the condition and performance of all essential components. The inspection included verification of the oxygen analyzer and calibration accuracy, checks on control valve positioners, pressure and temperature transmitters, alarm and shutdown functions, communication signals, and overall system responsiveness. Each subsystem was assessed to confirm that it operated within specification and maintained proper integration with the IGG control logic.
For us, an annual inspection is far more than a routine checklist. It is an opportunity to identify early signs of wear, detect potential failures before they escalate, and ensure that every critical element of the system is functioning exactly as intended. This proactive approach helps maintain operational readiness and prevents unexpected downtime during demanding cargo operations.
Professional maintenance, reliable performance, and safer vessel operations remain at the core of our work. By combining system upgrades with thorough annual inspections, we ensure that the IGG system continues to deliver stable, compliant, and dependable performance under all operating conditions.
