Main Starting Valve Actuator – Overhaul & Operational Restoration

Description

Another successful overhaul was recently completed onboard, involving a Mt. Halla Main Starting Valve Actuator that had been exhibiting delayed response during opening operations. This issue directly affected the reliability and timing of the main engine starting sequence, making a full restoration essential to ensure safe and consistent performance. The actuator was removed and fully dismantled to allow for a complete internal assessment.

During the inspection, all mechanical components were cleaned and examined for wear, contamination, and degradation of sealing elements. Worn seals were replaced with new components to restore airtight integrity and eliminate internal leakage. The actuator was then reassembled with precision, ensuring correct alignment and smooth mechanical movement throughout the full stroke range. Once reinstalled onboard, operational testing was performed to verify proper response, timing, and coordination with the main starting valve mechanism.

Following the overhaul, the actuator demonstrated immediate and stable response, fully restoring the reliability of the starting valve system. This successful intervention reinforces our commitment to delivering high‑standard technical support and ensuring that critical engine‑starting components operate safely and consistently under all conditions.
